May 3rd, 2014 marked the the 19th year that TORC has hosted the All Toyotafest at the Queen Mary In Long Beach. The term TORC itself stands for Toyota Owners and Restorers Club an organization who’s primary focus is to promote the preservation, restoration, modification & use of pre-1985 models. Although their primary focus is to preserve Toyota’s heritage vehicles, they still welcome newer generation Toyota, Lexus and Scion models.
We always enjoy attending Toyotafest because there is such a large variation of cars on display despite the fact that they all fall within the Toyota family. There are classic Toyota’s from the 60’s and 70’s, more modern classics from the 80’s and 90’s, sports cars, trucks, luxury cars and more. Within all of these categories, there are cars that have been completely restored to mirror the condition of a car off of the showroom floor and others that have taken styling cues from the VIP scene in Japan or have been transformed into complete track beasts. No two cars have the same exact personality and this element is what makes Toyotafest worth while every year.
